Who is eligible to apply?
- First time entering freshman
- Mississippi resident graduating from Mississippi High School
- ACT score of 20+ (SAT equivalent)
- Minimum overall 3.5 cumulative GPA
- Individuals who have been admitted to the university and completed the general scholarship application
What does the Luckyday Scholars Program offer?
- Financial assistance
- Up to $24,000 over 4 years ($6,000 per year)
- Can be stacked with any other scholarships offered by the university
- Can be stacked with federal and state grants as well

What does the Luckyday application consist of?
Eligible applicants will have been admitted to the university and will have completed the general scholarship application. Individuals who have satisfied the above eligibility requirements will have the Luckyday application populate in the scholarship platform.
The Luckyday application will consists of:
- Well-developed and reflective responses to essay prompts
- Submitted FAFSA
- Further details will be provided in the application.
Q & A
- Enrollment as a full-time student each semester
- Live in the Azalea Hall community (freshmen year) with the Luckyday community
- Participate in the Luckyday course first semester freshmen year
- Complete 10 hours of service each semester
- Attend programming meetings each semester
- Maintain 2.5 cumulative GPA or higher
- Students not meeting GPA requirement will be placed on probation and meet with staff.
Eligible applicants will have been admitted to the university and will have completed the general scholarship application that opens October 1, 2024.
Individuals who have satisfied the above eligibility requirements will have the Luckyday application populate in the scholarship platform. The deadline is January 15, 2025.
The award will be extended to approximately 80 incoming freshmen for the fall 2025 academic year, and students will be notified of their selection in the scholarship portal.
